(Hardly)New castle

This one is definietely just as blah as the Newcastle back home. This has always been a disappointing beer for me. Considering its dark, rich color, it has none of the complexity you'd expect. Such a disappointing finish. Well, it's no different over here. Skip this one.

    Newcastle is so awful tasting. I've probably had it a dozen times and keep forgetting how bad it is. Fool me once, shame on Newcastle; fool me a dozen times and I'm an idiot! (Strass)

    I had a theory that Newcastle was better on the east coast during my college days because it didn't have to make the cross-Atlantic and then cross-country trek. Thus I figured that when consumed at the source it must be up there with some of the better brown ales I have tried. Thank you for saving me the disappointment. I guess that in college (where Corona was considered a premium beer), everything was relative.
